Dear Sir or Madam ,

I am a middle school student .These days many parents think the only thing students need to do is to study well .Anyway ,kids just need get good grades at school . They think doing volunteer to help others is a waste of children’s time . But I don’t think so .

It’s really good to be a volunteer and I want to be a volunteer . My teacher encourages me to be a volunteer in the old people’s home and orphanages . She often tells me these people are lack of love.

In my free time ,I like reading books or the newspaper to the people in these places ,or just visit them and play games with them or listen to their stories. And I get on well with old people and homeless kids . So I think I’m good at this job.

I want to help out as a volunteer in your old people and orphanages because I think that some of the happiest people in the world are those who help to bring happiness.

I’m free to help on weekends and sometimes in the evening .

If everyone helps out a bit ,we’ll have a better world to live in .

I believe that kids should do some chores at home .I disagree that children’s job is to study hard and do well at school .Although studying is important for children , kids learn how to take good care of themselves is more necessary. In my opinion, it is unfair for children to look forward to their parents working hard outside and do all the chores . At the same time ,I think children should do their part in doing chores since they live in one house with their parents. They could do simple chores to help their busy and tired parents . For example , they should clean their own room , take out the rubbish and do the dishes and so on. Because it will help then to grow up to be independent . For kids, the earlier kids learn to be independent , the better it is for their future .
