  六级口语考试(CET-SET6)应试指导

  当你走在大街上时,怎么样让周围的人都注意到你呢?

  最简单的方法——裸奔。

  面试时,当其他人的资料里六级口语一项都是空白,而你的那个方格里写着一个看着很舒服的字母,你就是那一个裸奔的,引人注意的人。

  虽然目前有关六级口语考试的资料很少,但这并不代表着我们对它就无从下手了。首先,通过分析样卷和对历年参加过该考试的人的咨询后不难看出:六级口语考试常选择社会热点问题做考察话题。其次,分析一下考试的形式:两人一组作为搭档进行机考,因为是机考,考试中每一个环节留给考生来回答相关问题的时间是固定的,所以我们在时间长的部分应该准备的内容就要多一些,时间短的地方就不需要准备太多的内容了。考虑到考场上的种种未知,我个人觉得准备时假定的语速差不多是一秒两个单词,当然这个数值是很有弹性的。最后,也是最重要的,分析试卷的构成,搞清楚每个部分、每个环节想要考查什么以及彼此间的联系在哪,研究它的套路,见招拆招,总结出一套科学的应试技巧,从而做到有备而无患。

  Part 1

  ? Self-introduction (20s)

  六级口语考试的考查难度和深度是逐级提高、层层深入的。也就是说??这个环节没啥好说的,依次进行个人介绍,让两个搭档彼此间有个大概的了解。建议直接准备一段大概40词的自我介绍在考前背熟就行。下面是我自己准备的自我介绍和一些我从网上找来的例句。

  Well, good morning, my name is Xu Jiang. It is really a great honor to have this chance to introduce myself. I am twenty-two years old, born in Jiang Su province, and I am currently a junior student at Jiangsu Normal University. I major in computer science and technology. Thank you.

  在这个环节考生刚刚做过自我介绍,并没有看到Part2里才会出现的话题卡片,不过通过这个提问也能大概推断出今天聊的话题的方向了。这个提问是同时进行的,也不会太难,一般是非学术类问题,相对轻松,偏向日常,算是一个引子,应答时注重句(tao)式(lu)。

  官方样卷的核心话题是Food Safety(食品安全),在这个环节一共给出了五个参考问题,考生和自己的搭档在考试时会随机被问到同一个其中的问题:

  1. Where do you usually have your meals? How do you like the food there?

  2. Which dishes do you prefer, meat or vegetables? Why?

  3. Do you find the food in your canteen expensive? Why do you say so?

  4. What snacks and drinks do you usually have? Why?

  5. Which do you prefer, Chinese dishes or Western dishes? Why?

  每一个问题后面都会有一个追问,不难看出,这是开放式提问,考生的回答不要简单地只做“是”或“不是”或者寥寥几个单词的回应,应该做进一步的阐述。总的来说Part1的两个环节主要是考察考生口语的流利程度,所以考生应该以一种轻松的心态来应答,展现出自己口语流利、连贯的一面。

  大体上,在回答时采用“主题句——展开——总结”的模式,但具体情况具体对待,不要过于教条,比如在回答“一般疑问句”(类似于样卷第3句)时最好在主题句前加上一个“反应”例如:“Absolutely not. Exactly. Definitely not. Sure. Yes, it is/ they are. No, not really. No, it isn’t/ they aren’t. Yes, I think so. No, I don’t think so.”来先表明自己的态度。在回答“选择疑问句”(类似于样卷第2、4、5句)时采用这样的回答模式“我选A及其原因——未选B及其原因——所以,我选A”。

  例如,这是我给出的样卷第1句的回答: 2

  先直截了当地作出回答,毕竟口语和书面写作并不太一样,回答的同时可以加上一些口语中经常出现的句子用以连接或过渡,使自己的表述显得更加自然、更贴近生活。然后围绕着主题展开,我说我不喜欢,就说明我的原因,配合说明原因的句型,最后做出总结。句型就像是盖房子时候的框架,其他的内容就像填充框架的砖头。搞清楚应答的模式和句子的结构以后,再回答类似的提问时,可以根据实际的需要选择合适的框架和内容自行组合,这样可以让考生在考场上能够高效地进行思考,做出更完美的回答。当然,这样的框架也有很多,相关话题的词汇也离不开自己的积累,考生可以根据自己的需要和喜好做自己的准备,这里再给出一些回答样式和方法以后就不做更多的赘述了。

  在这一部分考生和自己的搭档会在屏幕上看到自己参加的这次口语考试的核心话题并且依次进行陈述,当然,双方看见的话题卡片是不一样的。样卷话题卡片如下图所示:

  到了卡片题,也就是个人陈述这个环节,考查考生描绘、叙述、解释、总结等综合能力以及相关话题词汇的掌握情况,从这个环节开始进入口语考试的主干部分。时间上有90秒的陈述时间,60秒的准备时间。我个人认为这60秒的准备,更像是为整个Part2预留的准备时间,因为后面的讨论环节若是能提前做好准备效果必然很不一样。

  准备什么呢?词汇,话题相关的词汇。在脑中尽可能多地检索出话题相关的词汇,以及一个合适的框架和具体的展开形式和填充内容,接下来,将这个想法固化在脑中,等待叙述开始时一步步地用嘴说出来。作为口语考试的主干环节之一,想要拿高分的话应该在考前尽可能多的去积累、去练习。90s的叙述等于是要即兴创作一篇命题作文,所需要的框架当然比问答时用的更加复杂,需要填充的内容也会更多,应该表达出的思想也应该更有深度。

  在这一环节,考生可以从“开场——提炼主题——拓展细节——原因(可选)——结束”几个黄金步骤展开并深入讨论。这样既会避免“无话可说”的窘境,又能使得考生的论述逻辑性强,内容充实、完整。

  Part1中已经提及的方法普适性较强,大部分在这里也可以根据自己的需要来使用,后文Part3中介绍的方法这里也可以根据自己的需要来使用。以下再扩充一些更适用于这个环节的方法:

  1. 主体展开功能

  这个环节算是六级口语考试的一个特色所在,也是“搭档”进行考试的意义所在,主要是根据上一环节所涉及的内容展开话题,进行跟进问题讨论。重点考察考生实际使用英语进行交流、探讨和应变的能力。在这个环节也得多花点心思准备,因为它耗时比其他所有环节录音时长加起来都长,而且你要面对的是一个活人,也就是说你不光得会答,还得会问。首先这个环节属于正式讨论,因此措辞上尽量使用正式的词汇。其次讨论时的焦点应该随着每个新问题的提出而转移,尽可能从搭档的回答中引出下一个问题,同时根据搭档的水平在问题难度上做适当的调整。这部分大概包括4~6个问题,数量取决于双方的回答,所以回答时需要考生有条理地思考,能够解释、分析、比较、展望和表达观点,可以先给出一个见解,然后进行论证,论证方法颇似写作。最后就是注意一点,这也是考官最后提醒的一点:这是一个搭档活动,你得跟人交流,不能一个人在那BB不给人家机会说。

  官方样卷中考官话术如下:

  Right. Now that we’ve talked briefly about food safety, I’d like you to develop this topic further and have a discussion for about four and a half minutes. During the discussion you may argue and ask each other questions. Our discussion is about:

  How to ensure food safety.

  Remember, this is a pair activity and you need to interact with each other. So don’t keep talking without giving the other a chance. Now let’s begin.

  Part 3

  ? QA (45s)

  最终提问——如果说第一部分的问答只是个引言,那么你关于这个问题的回答就是结语。在这个环节官方样卷一共给出了四个参考问题,考生和自己的搭档在考试时会同时被随机问到同一个其中的问题:

  Why are people more concerned about food safety these days?

  Why do some young people like junk food?

  What do you think of some people going on a diet?

  Why do some people choose to eat vegetarian food only?

  可以看出,Part3的问题重点考察考生的学术能力,回答时首先要表明自己的观点或立场,而后就是如何“自圆其说”。在“自圆其说”时需要用实例论证,用对比、列举、分类等方法,在Part1中已经提及了一些方法,以下再补充一些用于这个环节可能会为你加分的方法,不过,大体上也是采用“主题句——展开——总结”的模式:

  1. 描绘A事物的优劣

  问题例如:

  What are the advantages and disadvantages of (A)?

  What is the influence of?onpeople?(类似于样卷第三句)

  主题句:

  结语:

  时间仓促加上本人能力有限,故暂且就写到这儿了,不足之处请多包涵。虽然在口语考试中有了应答的技巧可以让你的分数锦上添花,但是语言的学习本质上还是离不开平时的积累和练习,尤其是口语的发音和语音语调,这也是考试中考察的重点,想要说好英语一直闭着嘴是不可能的。这篇应试指导与其说是我写的,不如说是我按照自己的思路整理、拼凑出来的。我主要是听了朋友的建议,从雅思口语和六级口语考试的比较中找相同点,整理出一些也能在六级口语考试中使用的方法,主要参考书籍:《雅思口语高分非你莫属》——王洪川、《雅思口语精讲精练》——吕达。

  最后希望我做的这些能帮到大家一点,也祝愿大家都能在口语考试中取得好的成绩。
