The lion and the fox

The lion once said that he was sick on his death bed.

So he asked all the animals to come and listen to his last wishes.

The goat came to the lion?s cave. He stood there and listened for a long time.

Then a sheep went in. Before she came out, a rabbit entered to hear the last wishes of the king of beasts.

But soon the lion seemed to recover, and went to the mouth of his cave.

He saw a fox waiting outside. "Why don?t you come in?" asked the lion to the fox. "I beg Your Majesty?s pardon," said the fox, "I have seen many animals enter your cave, but none of them come out.

Till they come out again, I prefer to wait outside."

老狮子与狐狸

●一头年老的狮子声称自己病得要死了，他告诉所有的动物来听他的临终遗言。

●一只山羊进入狮子的洞穴，并一直留在那里，接着一只绵羊也进去了。之前，一只兔子也曾进去听这兽中之王的临终遗言。

●但是不久，狮子好像康复了，能走到洞口了，他看到狐狸站在洞口，就问：“你为什么不进来呢？”

●“尊敬的殿下，”狐狸回答说，“如果我没发现只有进去的脚印，没有一个出来的脚印，我也许会进洞去。”

寓意: 我们必须小心别人的圈套，因为一旦进去了就很难再出来

A Wolf and A Dog

A wolf was almost dead with hunger. A house-dog saw him, and asked, "Friend, your irregular life will soon ruin you.

"Why don't you work steadily as I do, and get your food regularly?"

"I would have no objection," said the wolf, "if I could only get a place." "I will help you," said the dog. "Come with me to my master, and you shall share my work." So the wolf and the dog went to the town together.

On the way the wolf saw that there was no hair around the dog's neck. He felt quite surprised, and asked him why it was like that?

"Oh, it is nothing," said the dog. "Every night my master puts a collar around my neck and chains me up. You will soon get used to it."

"Is that the only reason?" said the wolf. "Then good-bye to you, my friend. I would rather be free."

一只狼快要饿死了，一只狗看见后问他：“你现在的无规律的生活一定会毁掉你，为什么不像我一样稳定地干活并有规律地获得食物呢?”

狼说：“如果我有个地方住，我没有意见。”狗回答说：“跟我到主人那里去，我们一起工作。”于是狼和狗一起回到了村子。

在路上，狼注意到狗的脖子上有一圈没有毛，他很奇怪地问为什么会那样。

“噢，没有什么，”狗说，“我的主人每天晚上都用一条铁链子拴住我，你很快就会习惯的。”“就是因为这个原因吗?”狼说道，“那么，再见了，我的朋友，我宁愿选择自由。”

One day,a little monkey is playing by the well.

一天，有只小猴子在井边玩儿。

He looks in the well and shouts :“Oh!My god!The moon has fallen into the well!” 它往井里一瞧，高喊道：“噢！我的天！月亮掉到井里头啦！”

An older monkeys runs over, takes a look,and says, “Goodness me!The moon is really in the water!”

一只大猴子跑来一看，说，“糟啦！月亮掉在井里头啦！”

And olderly monkey comes over.

老猴子也跑过来。

He is very surprised as well and cries out:“The moon is in the well.”

它也非常惊奇，喊道：“糟了，月亮掉在井里头了！”

A group of monkeys run over to the well.

一群猴子跑到井边来。

They look at the moon in the well and shout:“The moon did fall into the well!Come on!Let?get it out!”

它们看到井里的月亮，喊道：“月亮掉在井里头啦！快来！让我们把它捞起来！”

Then,the oldest monkey hangs on the tree up side down ,with his feet on the branch. 然后，老猴子倒挂在大树上。

And he pulls the next monkey?s feet with his hands.

它用手抓住下一只猴子的脚。

All the other monkeys follow his suit.

其他的猴子一个个跟着。

And they join each other one by one down to the moon in the well.

它们一只连着一只直到井里。

Just before they reach the moon,the oldest monkey raises his head and happens to see the moon in the sky.

正好他们摸到月亮的时候，老猴子抬头发现月亮挂在天上呢。

He yells excitedly “Don?t be so foolish!The moon is still in the sky!”

它兴奋地大叫：“别蠢了！月亮还好好地挂在天上呢！”

My name is Jenny. I have nine little goldfish.

我的名字叫珍妮。我有九条小金鱼。

Eight goldfish are all orange and one is black.

八条金鱼都是桔黄色的，只有一条是黑的。

I like the black one best. We call it Xiao Hei.

我最喜欢那条黑的。我们叫它小黑。

Its body is black.

它全身都是黑色的。

It has two big and round eyes, a small mouth, and a big tail. 它有两只又大又圆的眼睛，一张小嘴和一条大尾巴。

Though it＇s very small, it swims fast.

I often feed them and change water for them.

We are good friends.

Rabbit has grown up.

"There are too many rabbits in this hole! It is time to leave the nest. I am going to find my own home," the oldest rabbit says.

Rabbit decides to look in a different hole.

"You cannot live here. This is my home!" shouts Mouse.

So, Rabbit hops into the forest. He looks into another hole.

"You cannot live here. This is my home!" shouts Squirrel.

Rabbit looks for a new hole, one he can call his own.

"You cannot live here. This is my home!" shouts Ground Hog.

Rabbit is sad. He cannot find a home. Rabbit does not see Eagle flying high in the sky.

At that time, the beautiful White Rabbit saw Eagle. "Quickly, come inside!" she shouts.

"Thank you so much. You have saved my life!" Rabbit says. "You're welcome," White Rabbit answers.

"What a roomy hole you have! I wish I had a hole like this!" he says. Rabbit was surprised by how big the hole was.

"I am alone in this big hole. Why don't you stay here with me?" White Rabbit asks. "Thank you. I will stay here. Now, I have found a home!" says Rabbit.
