It’s time for us to learn the new part of the movie Pocahontas. Before the new part I would like to have a review about the last parts. Questions for you, try to answer them.

From last parts we can know Indian chief asked Pocahontas to marry Kocoum, Why? Indian chief wanted Pocahontas to marry Kocoum because he wanted Pocahontas to have steady life, no changing life. And he thought Kocoum could give Pocahontas steady life. But you know Pocahontas didn’t want. She didn’t want to marry Kocoum. Why? How was Kocoum? He is very serious, he never smiles.

And you know Pocahontas followed her dream and she went to find Grandmother Willow to get help. What did Grandmother Willow ask her to do? Listen with her heart. Listen all the spirits, all the lights on the earth. They would tell Pocahontas what to do, where to go. Finally what did she hear? She heard the wind. 1

But at first, she didn’t understand what the wind was telling her. Then what did she do? Listened with her heart. And did she understand? She understood. What did she hear the wind was telling her? She heard that the wind told her strange clouds were coming. But actually what were strange clouds? The sails, the white sails of the ship. Ship was coming. Who were coming? White men were coming.

And right now, British white men are going to get onto the land. They have already arrived in the new world. Will Pocahontas go to follow them to see who are coming here? Let’s go to the new part. Look, white sails of the ship.

Look! Just at this moment, Governor Ratcliffe looks outside from the window, and he says, “Look, Wiggins! An entire of New World chock full of gold just waiting for me.” What does Governor Ratcliffe say? He says this whole new world is full of gold. And all of the golds are waiting for him. And after showing that, Wiggins says something. What does Wiggins say? “And scores of adventures waiting for us, right, Percy?” So Wiggins thinks not only golds are waiting for Governor Ratcliffe, but also a lot of adventures are waiting for them. Savages are the guys who never wear clothes, who never go to school, who never put on shoes. Understand? Just like animals. And Wiggins asked, if they will meet some savages, Indians here. After hearing that, Governor Ratcliffe says, “If we really meet Indians, we will greet them by English way.” So, But how about Wiggins? Does he understand? No. He lifted two baskets of champagnes, wine. And he says, “Oh, English way to say hello to them. Here is a basket! A lot of wines for them to drink! He is so stupid. He doesn’t know Governor Ratcliff means they will fight them, to kill them. And later, who else come here?

And then Governor Ratcliffe says, “Give them the order. He counts on John Smith to fight Indians, to make sure no Indians will stop them. After hearing that, John Smith says, “Oh, yes. Of course. lf they’re anything like the savages I’ve fought before there’s nothing l can’t handle.” What does John smith mean? .

Governor Ratcliffe says, “Oh, they like John Smith, right? He’s very popular. Everybody likes him.” Governor Ratcliffe knows that. Everybody likes John Smith, because John Smith is very great. And he helps others a lot. After hearing that, Wiggins says, “Governor Ratcliffe, you too, I like you! Don’t worry, I like you. I admire you.” Actually Governor Ratcliffe wants everyone to be honored to him. He wants everyone to respect him. And he says, “This time after he gets a lot of golds, everybody must think he is great. Everybody must respect him, because he will get glory.” remember glory? If somebody gets glory, others will really, really respect this guy. They will admire this guy. Governor Ratcliffe thinks he will get glory speaks some good words to make him happy.

And he also tells Wiggins, that very thin guy, “Wiggins, mark my words. Tell all of them after I get golds, I will give the golds to our King James. Then James will reward me. Then everybody will respect me. So Governor Ratcliffe says he will be successful after he gets gold, because he will give the gold to the King James. James will reward him, will praise him. Then he will become into a great guy. Everybody will think he is great. in the new world. It’s time for them to pull the ship to the shore. Really, how did they get on the shore? Pull it? Or will they take a small boat in the river to look around here?

Right now, white men are looking at this beautiful place. Thomas is very surprised. “Look around here! It’s all over! It’s amazing!” So Thomas thinks it’s wonderful! It’s so beautiful! They even throw a little boat in the river. Later they will get into the small boat, to take a good look around here. And when all the white men are talking about this beautiful place,

John smith says, “Come on, men, we come here not only for looking at it. We must find the lands, then pull the ship to the land, to the shore. So he asked everybody to get into the boat. They will find the land to pull the big ship. And after they take a look around here they could hear the birds animals howling. How about Pocahontas? Will Pocahontas run to follow them?

Does Pocahontas follow them? Yes. She follows them. She wants to know who are coming here? She wants to know what these guys are going to do here. And whom does he see? Handsome young guy, John Smith. And later what would John Smith do?

All the white men are pulling the ship to the land, to the shore. Where is John? Where is he?

things off.” He wanted John Smith to tie the rope on a tree. But when he looks behind, where is John? John is gone. He looks for him. Finally, where does he find him? He is climbing up a high tree. “ Getting a back for looking at this place, so John Smith climbs up a high tree for what? For getting a back for looking at this place. Look! He looks at this beautiful place, so wonderful, so great! Pocahontas. She is looking at John Smith. But later, will she really get out to look at John smith? Of course, not.Meeko. Meeko also looks at John Smith. Meeko has never seen this kind of good-looking guy. He is so about John Smith. When somebody is curious about something, he must want to know more about it. Now Meeko is so about John Smith. So he wants to know more about John Smith. He gets closer to John. Who tries to stop Meeko? Flit and Pocahontas. Right now Flit drags Meeko’s tail. And later can Flit stop Meeko?

Flit doesn’t stop it. Finally Flit looses the dragging of Meeko’s tail. And Meeko bumps onto John Smith’s feet. How does John Smith feel? “Hey1 Hey!” John Smith is very alert. He thinks something bad is happening. Maybe somebody is attacking him. He quickly takes the knife to look around. Finally, when John Smith finds that is an animal raccoon, how does John Smith react?

After John Smith finds that is an animal raccoon, John Smith relaxed. Then he says, “Well, you are a strange-looking fellow. You’re hungry? Here is biscuit, sort of. Delicious! You eat.” Look, John Smith is very, very nice to animals. He gives a biscuit, sorts of biscuits for Meeko. Does Meeko eat it? Yes, And John Smith realizes this animal likes eating, and he will give more to Meeko. And he says, “Keep eating, keep eating. I have a lot of. Four months for you to eat. You now one month equals 30 days. Four months, one hundred and twenty days. John Smith says, he has a lot of biscuits, enough for Meeko to eat for four months, 120 days. And then John Smith gives another biscuit for Meeko. What does Meeko do? Yes,! And after seeing that, what does John Smith realize?

John Smith realizes Meeko has other friends and he says, “Oh, you’ve got friends here? Let me have a look. Maybe I will give them more biscuits.” John Smith walks to the bushes. ’s friends. hiding in there?

Back to Indian’s , Indian chief tries to tell all the Indians something about the strangers.He asks Kekata, “Kekata, what do you see?” Then Kekata throws something into the fire. And here appears a lot of smoke. And what does Kekata see through the smoke?

Kekata sees that white men are strange beasts. They are powerful. They have really powerful weapons that can shoot fire. White men even rob things when they pass some where. For example, if white men pass you, maybe they will grab your clothes away. So white men just grab the things when they pass the places. So Kekata tries to tell all the Indians white men are dangerous. They rob things from others. They are powerful, because they have great weapons. But after hearing that, is Kocoum afraid of them?

Is Kocoum afraid of white men? Of course, not. He says, “Brave Indian leader, let me lead some Kocoum is very brave. He is the bravest guy among Indians. Do you remember? This time he is brave, too. He wants to lead a lot of Indian to attack white men. But does Indian chief agree? Indian chief says, “No, Kocoum, last time we won our enemies, because we knew how to fight our enemies, we knew a lot about our enemies. This time we don’t know anything about these strangers. We don’t know a lot about white men. So we shouldn’t attack them, we shouldn’t fight them. Indian chief doesn’t agree to let Kocoum lead some warriors to fight white men.
