一 When in Rome do as the Romans do

Recently,the report about whether visitors should imitate the local customs and behaviors or not has immediately sparked a heated debate. Some people claim that visitors to other countries should imitate the local customs and behaviors. While other people hold the view that the host country should welcome cultures different from their own. As for as I’m concerned,I prefer the first view. As the saying goes, when in Rome do as the Romans do.There are some points as follows.

First of all,on the one hand,imitating the local customs and behaviors is a

wonderful way to show visitors’ respect to local people; On other hand,it’s also the best way to gain the hospitality and friendship from locals. Second,it is universally acknowledge that the main reason why people travel is,perhaps,for pleasure and learning some local culture that they cannot find it elsewhere. Therefor, imitating the local customs and behaviors not only can relax and make the visitor’s traveling become more freshness and excitement but also at the same time can broaden they knowledge circles and expand the vision. Next, on the negative side,if host country welcome cultures different from their own, sometimes it is a quick method that the expense of part of culture. Food, festivals, costumes and other stimulating elements of a culture are highlighted to entertain tourists, which maybe will constitute an insult to the locals and causing damage to the unique nature of a culture. Last but not least, when a historic site or a site that shows a country's cultural heritage is made accessible to the public, visitors from all over the world will soon flock there. They will share their experience in the local culture with their friends and families once they return home, assisting this site to gain international fame. Both financial and technological support will flood in for the conservation of natural and cultural

resources. There is no doubt that it is the best way of human cultural transmission and inheritance. What is more,as we all know,in the light of facts, it can conclude that tourism is neither a boon nor a bane to cultural preservation. While imitating the local customs and behaviors will endeavor to protect an indigenous culture,which can put the integrity of a culture at risk.

All in all, from all above reasons it’s easy to see that imitating the local customs and behaviors is very important for travels.

二The Main Causes of Africa’s Poverty Problem

The remark "the only good news story is a bad news story" is sometimes quoted by cynical journalists. Positive stories don't make interesting news, they say. And in Africa it often seems it is only the wars, droughts and diseases which are reported. To be honest, as we all know, Africa is best with poverty and a series of problems resulting from it, such as hunger,disease,wars, etc. As far as I’m concerned, the main factors contribute to the current status of Africa,ranging from geographical,climatic,social to political reasons and so on. There are some points as follows.

First of all,Africa is the world's second-largest and second most-populous continent after Asia. At about 30,221,532 km² including adjacent islands, it covers 6% of the Earth's total surface area, and 20.4% of the total land area. it accounts for about 14% of the world's human population.The

continent is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Suez Canal and the Red Sea to the northeast, the Indian Ocean to the southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. There are 46 countries including Madagascar, and 53 including all the island groups. From these we can easily see that there are so large quantities of people and countries in the edge of Africa. While, in the central of this continent, the population is very little. Uneven population causes the imbalance of economic development, which will lead to series of above problems.

Second, Africa straddles the equator and encompasses numerous climate areas; it is the only continent to stretch from the northern temperate to southern temperate zones. Because of the lack of natural regular precipitation and irrigation as well as glaciers or mountain aquifer systems, there is no natural moderating effect on the climate except near the coasts. In other words, on the one hand, the high temperature and little rainfall seriously hindered the development of forestry and agriculture. On the other hand, because of the population and climate, which lead to the spread of the disease. These are another reasons for African’s problem.

Last but not least, because of dense population, imbalance development of regional economy,climate,and economic burden,all the countries’ in Africa would conflict for resources. What’s more, in severe cases, that would result in intensify social contradictions and unrest. All in all, these series factor contribute to the various social problems, which eventually lead to the occurrence of Africa’s poverty problems.

三Giving Life Meaning

Have you thought about what you want people to say about you after you're gone? Can you hear the voice saying, "He was a great man." Or "She really will be missed." What’s meaning of the life? How to give life meaning has caused wide concern among public. Different people hold different opinions about this spotlight. Some people claims that the more money we have, the more meaningful our lives is. While others disagree with that. For example, as George Washington Carver,a well-known American scientist and educator put it,‘How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young,compassionate with the aged,sympathetic with the striving,and tolerant of the weak and the strong. Because someday in life you will have been all of these.’As far as I’m concerned, I couldn’t agree with him more. There are some points as follows.

First of all,one of the strangest phenomena of life is to engage in a work that will last long after death. Isn't that a lot like investing all your money so that future generations can bare interest on it? Perhaps, yet if you look deep in your own heart, you’ll find something drives you to make this kind of contribution---something drives every human being to find a purpose that lives on after death. Second, as the saying goes,the value of life lies not in the length of days, but in the use we make of them. So, we should make full of using our limited life to do the meaningful thing. Such as helping others, taking part in public benefit activities,doing somethings that make us happiness and happy and so on. Third, life is ten percent what you make it and ninety percent how you take it. That is to say, when we do something, we should do it in actual action,rather than just talk about it. Last but not least,don’t fear that the life shall come to an end, but rather fear that it shall never have a beginning. In other words, we should save our time to do right things instead of always complain that there is no time to do no matter how old you are or how poor you are. Just do it as possible as you can.

All in all, from above we can easily see that life is ten percent what you make it and ninety

percent how you take it.

There years ago, a teacher at a middle school in Beijing seated a male and female student who were in love side by side in class. She did so rather than seat them apart as many teachers in China had done for many years. The teacher did this as an experiment. The result, which was published recently,showed that students in love who sat together made great progress rather than regressed in their studies. However, this result has caused wide concern among public. Different people hold different views about this. Some people claim that students were in love side by side in class can improve the study progress. While other people hold the views that students should not fall in love in the class. As far as I’m concerned, I’d rather support the latter’s view than former. There are some points as follows.

First of all,most of our students, no income, tuition is provided by the parents. no economic basis and not solve the problem what people eligible to be concerned with love and romance, depend on their parents for money to be concerned with love and romance, and what is the difference between the idle away in seeking pleasure. Indeed, love is not measured in terms of money, but without money you how to maintain a sense of affection, friendship and love have not. Visible in the importance of money in love. Second,The students still in study stage, consumer also cannot self-sufficient, also think of be concerned with love and romance. Of course, the university students fall in love was successful, but after all, is one of the very few. You will study in the University bearing his parents for your great expectations, you should take it into forward momentum expectation. If you spend too much time on fall in love is a kind of responsibility, not only for the parent is also not responsible for their own. Third, Two persons were fall in love, time would be sure to mutual sacrifice; are sure to disperse a portion of their own energy; sure most students, and we in together time will reduce, have much opportunity to exercise their skills will be lost. Last but not least, Love is not a word, love is a kind of responsibility, love is a kind of pay, what is love, love is a covenant. In each stage of life to do the task to make life more rich and meaningful. Students send make efforts, the cause of love harvest in our struggle after tomorrow.

All in all, students should not fall in love in the class. They should make full use of time and money to study instead of falling in love with each other.
